Closing in-world locations

I have made the decision to shut my in-world locations. My life is just too hectic at the moment and I am not able to keep up with what needs to be done to be a good merchant.

I will finish loading things online and creating occasionally.

Thank you for all your support and kindness.

A little help for Dreams

I'm sure many of you remember the tremendous Dreams Way effort to bring attention and donations to the Dreams sim. Their wonderful work with the various groups (stroke victims and families, Asperger Syndrome, autism, ADD/ADHD) as well as the interesting building contests for all levels of builders  makes it a very special place. I've met many good friends at Dreams and participate in the activities as much as I can.

Dreams main landing point

Since support for such an enterprise is needed year round, I've created jewelry using the Dreams logo. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Dreams. This jewelry is available at the Dreams sim. I also have a store vendor there that gives  50% to Dreams. Here's a preview of the jewelry, approved by the caretaker of Dreams, Golda Stein. Each item in the set is available separately, and another pendant style is available.

I will also be singing at a fundraiser at Dreams on February 8th at 7 pm SLT. Everyone is welcome; the group there is a lot of fun!

I will have this at my store locations soon - just have to squeeze a few prims a little harder!

See you soon!

Happy Holidays!

Happy (insert holiday of your choice)!!! Now that we have that done, let me show you what's going on.

First, we have new charms for Christmas, including a limited edition train - it is so cute! The Christmas charms come in a collection package, or you can purchase them individually.

There are also some charms made especially for the Jewelry & Accessory Expo...

Speaking of the Expo, Thursday, December 12th at 7 pm SLT, I'll be running a demo / help / Q&A session about Cherish Charms. If you've wondered what the fuss is about, or if you've purchased some of the set and could use a little help, come on over! I plan on offering a few of these a month so don't be shy!

Here are the exclusive items for the Expo - catch them before they disappear!

Then there is the moolto hunt - more exclusives!

Enough for now - enjoy and happy shopping!

Introducing.....Cherish Charms by Always Eclectic!

More than two years in the making, Cherish Charms has come to life! Tradable, collectable charms along with corresponding jewelry. Move the charms from once piece of Cherish Charms jewelry and another. Trade with friends. Collect those rare, exclusive pieces offered only for a limited time. It's a whole new concept in SL jewelry!

I'm including some info on the concept. There's additional information at the Cherish Charms website:  http://alwayseclectic.wix.com/cherishcharms/#!home/mainPage

Here's a quick overview of how things work:

I've got several items at the Bitacora Travel Faire, in Africa, (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bloodshroud%20Bayou/225/218/22) that are part of Cherish Charms. There is an exclusive set including an exclusive charm for BTF only.

A separate, exclusive charm is also available only through BTF. It matches the Savanah set created for BTF.

There are lots of travel related charms at BTF. Those and more are available at the main store. And this is just the beginning!

Introducing.....'Regally Yours'!!

I just released a new set called 'Regally Yours.' As the name implies, the set is based on some medieval period pieces. This is the biggest set I've made as it includes 6 separate items (7 if I count each earring!). Take a look!

To entice you further, the Renaissance Island location has the silver ring as a freebie! Always Eclectic at Renaissance Island.

Both sets are available at Renaissance Island, and the individual pieces are available at the main store as well as the sets.  Always Eclectic Main Store

One of the reasons I do period jewelry is that I love period clothing! I wouldn't want to wear the stuff in real life as it is way too heavy and hot. But, in SL it is light as a feather and everyday has perfect weather so it's not a problem! Period pieces involve an interesting challenge. For instance, the jewels have less facets in medieval times. They didn't have the tools to do the very delicate faceting that they did in later years. So, no, I wasn't being lazy using kind of squarish jewels - I was trying my best to be authentic! ;-)))

Anyway, back to work! I have ideas for Halloween rolling around in my head - now they need to roll out onto some prims!! And don't forget the Steam 7 hunt item waiting for you at the main store!

See you soon!

Working hard......

Whew! Two hunts for May to prepare for, and it just keeps on going! I've created some very interesting items for hunts recently.

This set is in the Totally Me hunt. Music is one of my passions. I love to sing and really enjoy singing in my choir, the BeckRidge Chorale. This is one thing that keeps me busy, particularly in December and April.

For the 'It's Fun to Be 5' Prim Perfect hunt, I created an item for the Garden Party theme - a floral corsage/boutonniere suitable for any garden party.

I've also created a new Renaissance set that blew me away when I got done....here's a photo - will have it out soon....One of the earring sets will be the freebie at my Renaissance Island location.

Twas the night before Christmas....

...and all through SL
Many creatures were stirring
Non-creatures as well.

And I as a diligent shopkeeper do
Some clean up, some stock up,
some straighten up too.

Through the hunt hints I go
through SL type snow
Friendly help waiting
to keep me a go.

To the top of my house
to the bottom of my stash
Victorian christmas dress hunting
and off in a flash.

To a Mieville fun party
Thanks Perryn, it was marvy!
We dance and we laugh
Then I must go get tiny!

Back to the stash
For my new w00tmas flash
then up to Raglan
for the fun w00tmas bash.

White reindeer have taken
the stage it is clear
It must be a conspiracy
to start the new year!

So I'll say Merry Christmas, happy w00tmas to all
Happy holidays to you all!

Never a dull moment....

Or this could be called 'a diamond in the middens.'

It started when I decided to take another SL marketng class, this time at Builder's Brewery. The class was taught by Heavenly Villa. After class she answered a few questions for me, then sort of 'adopted' me and took a look at my store. I received some brutal honesty about my choice of merchandise. It was hard to hear, but rang true. She also visited  my store along with Thaddeus (can't recall last name!) and suggested some ways to make it more customer friendly.

As in anything, some suggestions I like, some I didn't.  But I am working with Vian Magic, the chief architect for the Mieville sims, to update my store. With Vian's own knowledge of what fits into Victorian London and addtional research from Jaime Parfort, I think we have a good handle on what we're doing. It looks much more posh than it did. Since the stores location is the beginning of the posh section, it's working right in....

Hopefully it will be done soon. In the meantime, the hunts continue - Renaissance Hunt and Quarantine Hunt (Human Path) this month, and Trick or Treat (Farewell to Winter) and Poppin' Penguins for January. My hunt gifts are improving as I go along!!

There are also gifts in the Christmas exchanges at Happy Hippo Building School and at Builder's Brewery. So catch the holiday wave!!!

The group gift will be going out soon - hehe!!

A learning experience for sure.....

Since opening this store,  I have learned more about SL and the creative tools than I would have ever thought.

With all the people I've meet doing these hunts, I am learning even more. I know lots of merchants now and they all seem to be very willing to help. Strider (ariana.farstrider) and I were talking of partnering up on a Renaissance Faire stall. As it turns out, we didn't but she has been very helpful to me for bouncing ideas off and asking sillly questions. LadyKay Gable helped make my hunt hints doable by reading them over and comparing them with where I have them hidden - invaluable information!!! And of course, Perryn Peterson is absolutely fabulous to work with! In fact, I took one of his ideas and made it a reality.

The marotte you see below, or jester stick as many people call it, was one of Perryn's ideas. It took me quite a while to get this to look as I wished, and I still consider this marotte 1.0, but it's cute!!!

This would not have been possible without Swith (cyneswith.luik). She created the animation that goes along with it so it isn't just a stick. Add the jingle bell effect when it moves and it turned out pretty cool!!! And just like everything else, it's 20% off! I'm also offering to make ones with custom faces for an extra fee. Put someone's face on that you'd like to shake!!!

I'm getting my hunts lined up for January. So far I'm in the Trick or Treat (Farewell to Winter) hunt. I'm debating about a few others....

I'm also contributing items to the Builder's Brewery Christmas Exchange and the Happy Hippo Christmas Exchange. Talk about being on a major building spree!!! Whee!!!

A few new items in the store also....and the major rearranging continues.....
